Multi-faceted Visualisation of Worklists

چکیده
Although business process management has been a major area of ICT research, no coherent approach has been developed to address the problem of business process visualisation to aid workers in the process of task prioritisation. In this paper we describe the development of a new, coherent approach to worklist visualisation, via analysis and development of a resource-centric view of the worklist information. We use instances of generic resource types as workflow elements that may be considered by workers when interacting with worklists. We then propose a generic 2D framework for visualising the resources, creating an effective mapping between a task and the capabilities of the resources. This aims to aid the process of task selection and prioritisation by workers. A worklist visualisation system has been implemented as an extension to an opensource workflow system, YAWL (Yet Another Workflow Language).

Software Visualisation Conundrums
Visualisation is compelling because of it has multidimensionality of presentation, data integration, and use. It facilitates understanding and analysis of complex data through opening up the visual perceptive channel as well as relying on the more standard forms of information location, assimilation and insight. The use of visualisation techniques to aid those who work with systems and software...

In this commentary the findings from a systematic review that concluded there is no compelling evidence to suggest that implementing complicated, multi-faceted interventions is more effective than simple, single component interventions to changing healthcare professional’s behaviour are considered through the lens of Harvey and Kitson’s editorial. Whilst an appealing conclusion, it is one that ...
متن کاملThe Acceptable Visual Quality of Stereoscopic..
Abstract. The realism of VR visualisation is diminished when images look pixelated or forms are faceted instead of smooth. What constitutes acceptable visual quality by viewers? This paper presents the survey results of what is the acceptable visual quality of triangle complexity and texture resolution for full-size VR visualisation on a large screen and serves as a guide to create VR models mo...
متن کاملTranslating Evidence into Healthcare Policy and Practice: Single Versus Multi-Faceted Implementation Strategies – Is There a Simple Answer to a Complex Question?
How best to achieve the translation of research evidence into routine policy and practice remains an enduring challenge in health systems across the world. The complexities associated with changing behaviour at an individual, team, organizational and system level have led many academics to conclude that tailored, multifaceted strategies provide the most effective approach to knowledge translati...
